Areca Nut belongs to family Palmae is known as Areca catechu L is largerly grown in the wet zone and wetter part of the intermediate zone in Sri Lanka. In the world, Areca nut is used in the preparation of Ayurvedic and traditional chinese medicines. Some countries used powdered Areca nuts, decoctions or extracted alkaloids from Areca are used in the veterinary medicine to remove intestinal parasites of animals. Tannin in Areca nuts is mainly used to dyeing clothes and roaps. And also Areca tannin is identified as a safe food coloring agent in food industry.

- Mixed sizes as large to small

Grade A+:

- Quality assurance at 90% - 93% excellence

Grade A:

- Quality assurance at 80% - 85% excellence
- Mixed sizes
- Some husk parts can be appear
- No fungus, dust or rotten parts



Grade B:

- Quality assurance at 70% - 74% excellence
- Mixed qualities with different sizes
- 25% of pieces not polished well
- Brownish color
